Hello new friend,

I can’t express how happy I am that you found us.

The Balanced Rose™ is truly a culmination of my life’s work. First as a student of Neuroscience and Philosophy, then as a marketing consultant to small business owners across the States, and as a yoga teacher, sound healer, and mindfulness coach.

Since girlhood, I have agonized over what it means to be a person. To be alive. Like, seriously, what’s the point?

I know, I know, it sounds dramatic. But go back to the part where I said I studied Neuroscience and Philosophy…I think that tells you all you need to know!

Back on track…

Through my various professional endeavors and personal relationships, I have realized my true passion lies in helping women (and yes, that includes ALL women) to be truly comfortable in themselves. To feel safe taking up space. To speak up when their relationship isn’t what they want. To feel pleasure in your body from eating and exercising and yah know… f***ing. More on that another time!

In 2020, amongst the world’s greater problems, which there’s no reason to bring up right now (sorry), I, unfortunately, went through an extremely traumatic and devastating loss.

I lost my best friend. My on-and-off again college sweetheart of 7 years. I’m sure I’ll write a book about it someday.

But the reason I share here is because that was my moment. The moment when everything clicked. That life really was this silly little game where I had more control over the rules (and NONE AT ALL at the same time) than I was giving myself credit for.

And, while I’d been an infrequent practitioner of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness techniques most of my life, this was the moment when I finally got it.

That I don’t actually have to agonize over what I look like. Or what I’m doing. Or what people think of me. Or even what I’m “supposed” to do.

The fact is I’m here. And I can do things. And want things. And experience things.

And that’s my purpose.

I have purpose because I am here. Shoutout to Descartes, who originally coined the whole “ I think therefore I am” thing. My Neuroscience and Philosophy Nerd side is showing — again.

The point is I don’t have to earn “it”. By being the best, or the most disciplined, or smartest, or most beautiful.

To just do what we want.

To use this blip of our time on earth to experience as much as you can in the body and mind that you have right now.

That’s your purpose.

My mission with The Balanced Rose™ is to help you embrace this.

To be confident, comfortable, and in charge of your own life, identity, relationships, work, and body through the beautiful practice of Yoga that connects us to our bodies, mind, spirits, nature, and a bigger purpose.

But first, to help us show up as our own being.

As much as it may sound like another cliche self-help quip about constantly improving yourself at first glance, “Grow Your Purpose” is about so much more than that...

To me it means growing into who you already are and who you want to be. Embracing the nuance and hypocrisy. The darkness and the light. The depressing and the joyful. All in a world that wants us to see things in black and white.

Mindfulness can teach you how to observe these thoughts, feelings, and experiences without internalizing them. To experience the warmth and heaviness of a raindrop plopping on your nose and feel childish delight AND annoyance that your foundation just smeared.

Yoga is made up of so much more than a flow of 12 postures that you do over and over again. It’s about connecting to yourself and everyone around you. To experience nature and the world. To see how big and powerful you are AND how small and insignificant you are. All at the same time.

To me, growing my purpose means:

Self-Acceptance. Assuredness. Confidence. Comfortability. Joy. Peace. Abundance. Happiness. Self-Trust. Safety. Curiosity. Feminity. Intimacy.

It may mean something different to you. Because your life is yours.

Whatever you desire to be, that’s your purpose.

My approach may not be right for you. And that’s okay. If you’re just looking to exercise a few times a week or increase your flexibility, there are tons of free resources on YouTube™ or chain gyms that offer weekly yoga flows(and I totally support you!).
